HEERF I: Cares Act<\/h3>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7ca36ed elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"7ca36ed\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><b style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-text ); font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Arial; font-size: 1rem;\">Ley de Est\u00edmulo Econ\u00f3mico para Manejar la Emergencia conocida como\u00a0Coronanavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act\u00a0(Ley CARES, Ley P\u00fablica 116-136)\u00a0<\/b><\/p><p>Se informa que la Secretaria del Departamento de Educaci\u00f3n Federal, Betsy DeVos entrego m\u00e1s de $6 mil millones en becas de e<span style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-text ); font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Arial; font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight ); font-size: 1rem;\">mergencia para estudiantes universitarios afectados por el brote de coronavirus. El pasado 11 de abril del 2020 se les comunic\u00f3 a las Instituciones Universitarias y Centros Universitarios sobre la aprobaci\u00f3n de la Ley de Est\u00edmulo Econ\u00f3mico para Manejar la Emergencia conocida como\u00a0Coronanavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act\u00a0(Ley CARES, Ley P\u00fablica 116-136).\u00a0La Ley CARES, establece y suministra el Fondo de Ayuda de Emergencia para la Educaci\u00f3n Superior (HEERF) y ordena a las instituciones de educaci\u00f3n superior que utilicen no menos del 50 por ciento de los fondos recibidos en virtud de las Secciones 18004 (a) (1) y 18004 ( c) de la Ley CARES.El objetivo de este fondo es proporcionar becas de emergencia a estudiantes universitarios cuyas vidas y educaci\u00f3n han sido interrumpidas por la pandemia.<\/span><\/p><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ed.gov\/news\/press-releases\/secretary-devos-rapidly-delivers-more-6-billion-mergencia-efectivo-becas-universitarios-estudiantes-impactados-coronavirus-outbreakCARES Act\">A EDP UNIVERSITY OF PUERTO RICO se le han asignado fondos de la Ley Federal de Ayuda, Alivio y Seguridad Econ\u00f3mica de Coronavirus.<\/a> La Ley CARES estableci\u00f3 y financi\u00f3 el Fondo de Ayuda para Emergencias de Educaci\u00f3n Superior (HEERF, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s) para proporcionar becas de ayuda econ\u00f3mica de emergencia. Estos fondos cr\u00edticos ayudar\u00e1n a los estudiantes elegibles de EDP a cubrir los gastos relacionados con viajes no anticipados, requisitos tecnol\u00f3gicos adicionales u otras necesidades relacionadas con una situaci\u00f3n de emergencia.<\/p><p>El Departamento de Educaci\u00f3n Federal emite una Certificaci\u00f3n de Elegibilidad para participar del CARES ACT Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund- IHEs. EDP University of Puerto Rico se le asign\u00f3 un monto total de la asignaci\u00f3n $3,158,114 de los cuales la primera parte de los fondos ($1,579,057) ser\u00e1n destinados directamente para Becas de emergencia a estudiantes. Los estudiantes elegibles podr\u00edan recibir cantidades aproximadas entre $615.00 y $485.73.
